My sisters are my closest friends - though somehow they're even more than that. I have no barriers around them: I can be myself and tell them absolutely everything. Being a Life Sciences student at U of T means opportunities for study abound in several scientific areas. It means that you are taught by some of the best scientists in these fields, and that you are held to immense standards. It also means that you are one of many students. What I've gotten from Tri Delta is a community of other science students who, like me, are academically-minded, but have other interests too. I've acquired a go-to Con Hall community and a few study buddies as well. What's more, I've gotten a reality check: Life Sci kids don't run things! So many of my sisters study other fascinating fields, & I've learned from them as well.

In joining Tri Delta I got so much more than I could have ever imagined. Not only did I get close and loyal friends I also got a support system. These girls offer me advice and guidance; it doesn’t matter if it is academic, or personal or at 3 o’clock in the morning they are all there to offer help whenever I need it. I wouldn’t trade the feeling of love and support that I get from them for anything in the world.

When you go to such a large university like UofT it's very easy to get lost amongst the many students that fill the lecture halls. Being in Tri Delta I found that I can have a core group of friends that have similar goals as me that help shape me into being a better student without getting completely overwhelmed by the piling papers, midterms and dreaded finals. Outside of school, being in Tri Delta opened many volunteer opportunities for me. Those of which I would be too scared/shy/nervous to take part in by myself thus ultimately getting me out of that shell, broadening my outlook on life, and helping others.

What does Tri Delta mean to you?
For me, Tri Delta is a home away from home. It means being surrounded by ladies who support and steadfastly love me and instantly put me in a good mood. It truly is a sisterhood. Tri Delta is where I am free to be myself and where I am surrounded by like-minded young women who honestly want the best for one another and our sorority as a whole.
Got along without you before I met you, couldn't get along without you now
